I.The accumulation

The internet had
to go somewhere.

There is a place beneath the timeline. Below the replies, the abandoned group chats, the endless scroll. A swamp where the internet leaves the thoughts it doesn't know what to do with.

For years, they drifted down. Every deleted post. Every terrible joke. Every “last one before I sleep” at 4:37 a.m. They settled in the dark and quietly became something dense, mossy, and deeply peculiar.

Then, one night, the mud blinked.

II.The plop

No prophecy.
Just a noise.

He emerged with two enormous eyes and the proportions of a badly remembered frog. The swamp held its breath. He looked left. He looked right. He attempted a dramatic first step.

He rolled.

Not gracefully. Not on purpose. But with the quiet inevitability of a creature whose body has made all the important decisions for him. The reeds bent. The fireflies gathered. Somewhere in the dark, a single unopened notification disappeared.
